Russ joined Fulcrum Chambers from one of the industry’s leading business intelligence firms where he built the European operation from a standing start into one of the top 3 providers of business intelligence and investigations services in the European region. Russ specialises in delivering intelligence driven assessments of counter-party risk to Clients concerned about their reputation and the risks of association with a potential partner or acquisition. Such services are commonly derived from a requirement to comply with regulations such as FCPA and the Bribery Act and a genuine desire on the part of clients to fully understand the unique Market conditions and individual risks pertaining to associations in more challenging markets. The Integrity Due Diligence service was pioneered by the multi national development banks and has been adopted more broadly by the private sector as a means of addressing and embracing both regulatory and reputational risk requirements. Market entry reports are commissioned as a more bespoke means of assessing corruption, political and other risks pertaining to a particular sector or country than might be available through the macro assessments offered by the TI corruption perceptions index and associated material. 'Fit and Proper' tests have become common parlance both in terms of executives taking positions with private and public companies and also as a means of upholding the reputation of professional sports such as Football, Cricket and Rugby Union. Russ is one of the first non-lawyers to be accepted into a law firm following the Legal Services Act of 2007 and brings to Fulcrum Chambers' clients a broad range of experience and expertise that can be brought to bear in addressing corruption and other commercial risks as well as the ability to advise and resolve issues in a commercial manner. Russ is also Managing Director of Fulcrum Consulting Ltd a company providing specific services in compliment to Fulcrum Chambers LLP. Russ is a graduate of Cambridge University having read History and alumni of London Business School. Having served in the Royal Marines and UK Special Forces Russ joined the private sector with Prudential plc where he was responsible for managing Political Risk, Operational Risk and understanding counter-party risk before moving to the Business Intelligence and Investigations sector.
